As a reference work on sleep apnea and cardiovascular and metabolic disease, Dr. Lurie and the editors at Karger have put together an excellent volume. The extensive bibliography supports the incontrovertible association between OSA and these life-threatening conditions. Though Dr. Lurie does pose a number of questions throughout the book, at hopefully will stimulate further research.

Love Forced Feminisation? Buy this book!!

I read this book a long time ago and it is still gripping even today. I just can't put the book down. I just want to know what happens next to Fred and where it will lead (even though i've read it before; that was a long time ago). For anyone who loves Forced Feminization and forceful characters dominating the mind and body of youth then this is a story to read. I would recommend the sequels as well as they continue on the them of how Fred developes; scutpted in a way, bent by the will of those around them into what they want him to be.

I'm already half-way through book two, totally hooked on what tests, trials and torments await poor Fred and eagely waiting to see him develope into the blossoming creature he will eventually become. Trying to find a word that describes how I feel about reading the book I would say "Intoxicated" ; I can't put it down, I want to continue reading, but the clock is saying 2am and I have to get up at 7am for work. And I'm still saying "just one more page!!".

I've deliberately been vague, as I don't want to spoil anything, so writing this review was hard. I would like to make a quick note about the seller of this product. Very helpful. Had a few issues with purchasing that needed resolving. I was expecting a reply to my first query within a week; I got it next morning. Spent the weekend back and forth with replies resolving each issue quickly and completely. It was very nice speaking with Carole and I wish her all the best in the future. 11/10 for customer service.

And please buy this book. If not, the complete series. It really is one of the better series of books to read on forced feminisation. More a mind domination than a physical / blackmail one which makes it even better.

About the Author
Recently, a good friend from Hawaii reminded me that he was the one who had told me about Lyle Ritz. After hearing that Lyle had recorded two jazz ukulele LP’s for Verve in the late ‘50’s, I became obsessed with finding both recordings. I’ll never forget hearing How About Uke for the first time and feeling that suddenly anything was possible on this instrument. The sophistication of Lyle’s chord voicings, his solos and the choice of the material completely erased for me any notion that the ukulele was one of the most misunderstood and under-appreciated musical instruments of all time. It also gave me the desire to try to change that perception.

This songbook is certainly a step in that direction. As more and more people are getting acquainted or reacquainted with the ukulele these days, there is a growing demand for more sophisticated arrangements. I can think of no better response than this extraordinary collection.

Not for every ukulele

The songs in the book have a melody line on a treble clef with tabs for "standard" uke with gCEA tuning above and tabs for "tenor/baritone" uke with DGBE tuning. Half of the songs have melody notes that go below middle C, which doesn't work with gCEA instruments with the high G which includes how many tenor ukes are tuned these days. On the accompanying CD, each song has the melody, a bass line which is not notated in the book, and both the "standard" tab chord in the left speaker and the "tenor" tab chords in the right. This is a very square performance, if not clinical. It does not swing, have any rhythmic interest, nor is there any embellishment in the melodic line: it ain't jazz except for the chords. It's hard to believe Ritz is playing, though that's what the book says. I found a number of the tabs to be extremely difficult to finger at all on a gCEA tenor uke, let alone in the context of playing a song, so using this book as a guide to jazz chords on the uke doesn't work well for me. Too bad, since the choice of American songbook standards is excellent. Lyle Ritz is a great player and his albums are highly recommended, but this book was a disappointment and needlessly so.

A great purchase if your into ukulele jazz

I wasn't sure that this book would deliver what I wanted but I ordered it anyway. Delivery was quicker than I imagined and when I received it I was more than pleased with the content and with the included CD. This is not a book for the beginner and I would put it in the intermediate to advanced level so if you are not of that standard you may find some of the jazz chords a bit daunting. Having said that it is definitely worth buying if you are keen to play (and learn) some jazz standards. In that respect this book is a must for your collection.

GOOD BUT HARDER THAN ANTICIPATED

The ONLY DRAWBACK buying music books from Amazon is that you can't thumb through the book enough to see if it is really what you want. The sampling wasn't very helpful as the book is much harder for a low level intermediate player....harder than anticipated. Perhaps another year of noodling and I'll be there but right now it's assigned to shelf.

It has been super frustrating to be doing everything "right" but (as the author sympathizes) to see my fat loss ideal always just out of reach. It's especially torturous when you are lean but can't seem to break past the plateau despite following the advice of several fitness gurus. Within a week of experimenting with the techniques outlined in this book I began seeing reliable yet dramatic results. It's as simple as it gets so it feels relieving to finally find a solution that works. I only wish I had found it sooner!

Excellent science based approach to fat loss

Pete Anthony provides a very effective, science based approach to losing fat. He covers some important ground, dispatching with myths about fat loss and the actual peer reviewed science that is useful in understanding how to get lean. I've read dozens of books on nutrition and fitness; Pete's book is unique in providing a very practical path that can be used to reduce bodyfat without making yourself crazy.

No supplements or extreme workout are required. Kudos to Mr. Anthony for this excellent book that presents a very realistic formula for getting lean. Highly recommended.

Exactly what I was looking for

I have been trying to lose weight successfully for a long time now. Through the process, I procured disordered eating habits that I needed to heal from first in order to try to lose weight again.

I will never again attempt to lose weight in a way that makes my life unenjoyable. Because it's a) crazy and b) because I know it's unnecessary!

This is a great ebook for outlining simple, sustainable ways to lose weight and how to implement them in a manner which you can stick to. As Pete has said himself, the ability to lose weight effectively and maintain leanness is an imperative skill for any human living in the 21st century to learn.

If you want a clear guide to learning to lose weight in a way that won't tax your sanity, read this ebook.

P. S. I gave this four out of five stars because there was too much repetition through the book and I felt it could have used another look through before publishing. That said, the redundancy did not take away from the valuable information I sought out from this ebook.

Very well written, I have learned more tricks of the trade in Charles book... Which ones you ask? You will have to read the book... his building is much like all the rest of the books out there...Like Cigar Box Guitar, Handmade Music Factory, Picken Stick Building... BUT at the end of the book the trick of making a bridge or some of the setup are very good resources.... Well done Charle...

Worthy of 6 stars if that were possible!

I would have given this book 6 stars if I were able to! The author Charles E. Atchison does a fantastic job of breaking down the steps to building fantastic folk insturments. I found his steps easy to follow even though I have never built a guitar before. Inside the book you will find a list of references that are extremely helpful to the process of building your own folk instrument. You will also find the authors web site which I highly recomend checking out! All in all I found the book to be a fantastic read. Based on how much I enjoyed this book I would buy other books from written by Charles E. Atchison.
